You will need to guide your puppy, set boundaries, and stay firm even when faced with those irresistible puppy eyes after you’ve said no! In the family, the dog should always be the last in the hierarchy, so it’s important to establish your role gently but clearly from the start.
A Lifelong Companion
A Shar-Pei lives on average 12 to 13 years. While this may only be a small part of your life, you will be their whole world: their anchor, their pack leader, their friend. You’ll need to commit to regular walks, playtime, feeding, grooming, routine vaccinations and worming, and care whenever they are unwell.
Buying a Shar-Pei should always be a decision made with full awareness of everything this commitment involves.
